Science meets day to day medical practice

This is a fantastic article about evidence based medicine: “Evidence based medicine: what it is and what it isn’t” from the British Medical Journal. What I particularly like is the effort taken to explain how evidence based medicine balances scientific findings (the “evidence”) of the efficacy of treatments with the experience of the doctor and their knowledge of the individual patient.

Hat tip to Bad Science.
