Colin Meads at Working Style

Through the “virtue” of having spent far too much money at Working Style over the past year, I was invited to attend a function of theirs hosted by TV personality Hamish McKay and featuring the legendary Colin “Pine Tree” Meads. It was a real honour to get to see the legend himself in person, and I am grateful to Rex of Working Style for inviting me. Clearly Colin Meads and Hamish McKay and Grant Nesbitt (who also joined them) have worked out a it of a routine, but for all that you did feel that Colin Meads was giving you his genuine opinions from what he thought of Graham Henry’s selection policy (he couldn’t understand the non-selection of Kieran Read); of the axing of Jerry Collins (why couldn’t they have just said he was a great servant of NZ rugby and left it at that); and what he thought of the Aussies and the way they didn’t support the NZ bid for the 2011 World Cup (“those buggers”).

A very enjoyable time, and even insightful.
