All Blacks Comprehensively Beat England 37 – 20

In a match dominated by the incomprehensible rulings of Welsh referee, the All Blacks dominated England to run off the field as winners. They had dominated in every area except line outs. Of particular interest was the dominance at scrum time, Somerville teaching the much vaunted Andy Sheridan a lesson or two about scrummaging and Neemia Tialata doing the damage on the other side. Nonu continued his run of form, showing that he and Smith are actually the best midfield combo in NZ. The negative English tactics at the break down – and the referee’s non-policing of the area – were the most frustrating part of the game. I for one can’t wait for the ELVs to be applied to the international game.
